But the number of times I've caught myself out of breathe in a superset because I've held my breathe rather than breathing properly is too damn high.I completely agree. No different than if you loved basketball. In the span of years, someone who swims and does nothing else will probably have noticeably better body composition than someone who sits on the couch all day.
