This post-Thanksgiving weekend marks the big start of the holiday shopping season, with other holiday events kicking into gear as well. We bring the party to Wilshire Square by closing off the intersection of Ross and Russell, bringing in a mobile stage, dance floor, chairs and tables, and an amazing live band!

In late 1922, just a few days before Christmas, the first lots went on sale and over 3000 trees planted in the neighborhood, with a quarter of the lots sold within the year. The square was bright with lights and decorations and Santa and Mrs. Claus were on-hand to light the Christmas tree and have photos taken with the kids.After the tree lighting, everyone enjoyed a fireworks show.
There was lots of fun for all ages at the Magical Christmas Candlelight Home Tour and the city of Garland’s Christmas on the Square event Thursday, Dec. 5.
